Did you know the Aston Martin DB7 has Mazda 323 taillights and Miata interior door handles?

I knew about the door handles, but those taillights! Ugh! Ruins the DB7 for me.

Though the part numbers do not directly transfer (vin breaks, colors, attributes) FoMoCo is seen throughout the vehicle, even today, Volvo, Jag, LR included. Back then though it stuck mainly to small things like a/c evap cases and all parts for the HVAC. Stuff like the wiper motors, brake boosters, window regulators, seat belts, locks, carbon filter, various sensors, seat motors, switches, steeeing column, and just so many little random stuff. The vehicle was still hand assembled for the most part by blokes (not engineers) Design, engine, and chassis development all that good stuff is still all Aston Martin. They don't particularly age well like most British cars but thankfully and unfortunately, people do not really put a whole lot of miles on them let alone drive them aggressive. We had a 2005 Vanquish the other day with 2500 miles. It was like brand new condition. Once on the lift..... well, I'll just say that i'm glad he approved the total engine reseal job. Parts took forever to arrive but a nice example of the old era. Most are not that fortunate though.

Was it in or near Zionsville by any chance? We have dude who dailies a blue DB7 who's kinda my hero; dude takes that car everywhere, man, it's so awesome to see people actually appreciating their cars.

Makes sense, Aston was owned by Ford who was sleeping around with Mazda, so yeah.

Don't forget that the V12 is essentially nothing more than two Duratec 3.0's cast together. (The power of TWO Ford Escapes! lol) Same timing system and everything.

I just want to say that this is one of the highest quality versions of that image I have ever seen on the internet. It's like looking into crystal glass!

It appears to be an HD fan reproduction. Compared with the original, the dust trail is a little different

I think it was. I was only like 20 minutes away from Indy at that point.
